NKY Soup Kitchen Supports Youth Philanthropy Camp for 4th Year in a Row
This summer, Magnified Giving hosted four weeks of Camp Give, a summer camp centered on the value of giving and philanthropy for the youth of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, and one while many nonprofits partner with Magnified Giving to make this camp possible, one in particular continues to provide special support year after year.

Teen Leverages Interest in Politics to Find His Voice and Help Peers Do the Same
We’re kicking off our “Future of Philanthropy” series by highlighting Nick Watts, a senior at Cincinnati Country Day School, who has long enjoyed history, an already cares deeply about local government. He even works on campaigns for fun! For Nick, however, history and politics aren’t just hobbies, but they’re also tools to help make the world a better place.

Young Philanthropists at Immaculate Heart of Mary Grant Over $4,000 to Ken Anderson Alliance
8th Graders at Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) School are proving to us all that anyone, at any age, can be a philanthropist. Through their involvement in the Magnified Giving program, Mrs. Tina Ramundo’s 8th grade class learned how to give their time, talent, and treasure, and then engaged in a hands-on fundraising and grant-making process to support their chosen nonprofit, the Ken Anderson Alliance.

Students At Catholic Central High School Spend Their Winter Term Immersed In Service
During their winter term at Catholic Central High School, 8 dedicated 11th and 12th graders devoted themselves to serving others. These students enrolled in an intensive Service Ministry and Magnified Giving course, where they visited and volunteered at 9 different community nonprofits!

Youth At Down Syndrome Association Have Powerful Experience Through Magnified Giving
For the first time this year, we were delighted to host a Magnified Giving program with students involved in programming at Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati. Recently, the students completed the program and held presentations to give away their $1,000 grant, and smiles were on the faces of all who attended!

Making Waves In The Community And In The Pool - The Ripple Effect Of Your Gifts!
Our name, Magnified Giving, comes from the vision that those gifts that we receive from donors ultimately flow to community nonprofits, but the gift is magnified because we engage students in the grant-making process. Check out this sunny example of the gifts “flowing” to meet needs in our community!

Students Take Initiative To Apply For Funding For Creative And Impactful Service Projects
Through our Student Service Conference fueled by the Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation, we offered a unique opportunity for students to apply for a $200 mini-grant to plan, execute, and report on a service project. Overall, we supported 14 mini-grants, and students impacted 23 nonprofits through their service projects. Below are just a few of the amazing examples of the impact students made with these mini-grants and their own time and talents.

Local Nonprofit Receives Four Grants AND Facilitates Magnified Giving With Their Own Program Participants
One local nonprofit had a special opportunity this year - their clients both gave and received Magnified Giving grant funds! At Magnified Giving, we hope to teach philanthropy to all students in our region, especially high-risk students, who have so much to gain from the empowering benefits of giving and serving. This year, we reached more high-risk students than ever through our Extension Programs, or programs hosted outside of a traditional classroom or club environment.

Mini Cheesecakes Make A Big Impact
For the 2021 Magnified Giving Fall Dinner, we are honored to invite a local small business, Maggie’s Marvelous Mini Cheesecakes, to provide over 200 mini cheesecakes for dessert! Not only do we love these sweet cheesecakes, but we love the founder’s heart to serve her community.
Bearcats Who Care - UC Interns Provide Critical Support To Magnified Giving
This year alone, four UC students joined the long list of Bearcats who have helped shape Magnified Giving and used their skills and talents to advance our mission! We value our connection with UC, and we love having Bearcats in the building!
