New Partnership with UpSpring Brings Camp Give to Children Experiencing Homelessness

March 11, 2025 | Written by Lindsey Barta

Magnified Giving is thrilled to announce a vibrant new partnership with UpSpring, the region’s only nonprofit exclusively serving the educational needs of children experiencing homelessness. This summer, Magnified Giving's Camp Give program will be hosted at two of UpSpring Summer 360° camp locations – one nestled in Northern Kentucky and the other in the city of Cincinnati.

The union of these community-centric powerhouses is sponsored by the generous support of The Mayerson Foundation, known for their commitment to initiatives that inspire and uplift the human spirit, and Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky, prominent for uniting resources to increase quality of life for residents of Northern Kentucky.

"This partnership has been in the works for a long time, and we're so delighted to collaborate with UpSpring to enhance their already phenomenal programming with hands-on service and grant-making," says Alison Kaufman, Magnified Giving Vice President of Programs. "Every child should have the opportunity to understand that they have valuable time, talent, and treasure to use to serve those around them."

The Camp Give program, a hallmark of Magnified Giving's efforts, is set to transform the summer for many at-risk and impoverished young individuals. Over two enriching weeks, the program will integrate with UpSpring's summer sessions to bring the magic of giving and community service to life. Children will dive into the world of philanthropy, engaging in activities that teach the importance of social responsibility and the impact of kindness.

Participants in Camp Give during the summer of 2024 raise money together for Payton’s Lemonade Stand by hosting their own lemonade stand in Evendale. Participants in Camp Give at UpSpring’s Summer 360° camps will have similar opportunities to practice hands-on giving and service in a fun and team-oriented enviroment!

Participants will be empowered to become young philanthropists, learning how to assess community needs, participating in hands-on service, and even make real grant-making decisions. This practical experience ensures that the values of generosity and community support are not just taught, but lived.

The program aims to illuminate paths of opportunity and to inspire the next generation of compassionate leaders and change-makers. It's about more than just giving; it's about equipping youth with the understanding that they possess the power to make a tangible difference in their communities.

Join us in celebrating this collaboration and in fostering a culture of giving that will echo through the lives of countless youth and the fabric of our communities.
