Magnified Giving to Host Free Nonprofit Media Relations & Organizational Culture Workshop

Back by popular demand, Magnified Giving is once again excited to partner with award-winning journalist and filmmaker Steve Oldfield to offer a free workshop on interviewing with the media and media relations for nonprofit representatives. Want to learn how to interview well with the media and master delivering your mission? This workshop is for you! In addition to media best practices, we are excited to welcome Melanie Booher for a practical session on organizational culture called "Life's Too Short to Work with Jerks." We are excited to host both of these esteemed speakers for insightful sessions on media relations and organizational culture in one workshop! A photographer will also be available to take free headshots for participants.

This event will be held in-person at the Magnified Giving office (9940 Reading Road, Evendale, OH 45241) on June 4th, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM.

Steve Oldfield

About Steve Oldfield

Steve Oldfield is an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker who also teaches at Thomas More University as a Communication professor. Steve currently covers "good news" stories about non-profits for Spectrum News Ohio. 

Steve has worked as a television news producer, reporter and anchor and has been featuring non-profits in on-air segments since producing the Colorado Today Show in 1991, where he created a seminar to help non-profit marketing and advancement executives score coverage on television.

Steve also spent two years working for Children, Inc. as a service learning coordinator. He has featured Magnified Giving in several television news stories along with profiling a number of non-profits who work with MG.

About Melanie Booher

Melanie is the President of PEOPLEfirst Talent & Retention Consulting. She is the author of Conscious Culture and creator of Cards for Culture. Melanie leads the charge for gamifying culture. She holds a BS in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from Miami University and a Master's Degree in Human Resources from the University of Cincinnati.

She has experience working with esteemed clients such as Macy's, Cintas, Charming Shoppes, Provident & National City Bank, Global Underwriters, Spectrum, MSA, Nurtur Aveda, Stearns Financial, and DMM Law. She lives outside of Cincinnati, OH with her husband and 3 children.
